DESCRIPTION

Safety signals are essential to our vision of making Amazon’s Last Mile delivery organization the world’s safest. These signals capture things like risks on the road, driving patterns, and other information that help delivery drivers complete their deliveries safely. As the Senior Product Manager, New Tech Safety Signals, you will work to launch and manage safety signals on new 1P and 3P technology solutions being integrated into our vehicles and other delivery driver touchpoints.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end delivery of new safety signals, managing their launch and driving the roadmap for ongoing signal and technology implementation. You’ll work backwards from key safety risks to define which signals, alerts, and information should be generated from emerging technologies. As the voice of the driver, DSP (delivery business owner), and internal business stakeholders, you’ll define functional and non-functional requirements—including signal definition, support, uptime, and resolution SLAs—and ensure tech teams align their goals and deliverables accordingly. You’ll manage business feature intake, prioritize customer needs, and drive successful launches and change management efforts. You will also influence how and where safety signals surface to users, shape the customer experience, and partner with tech teams to deliver on your vision.

This is a high-impact role both in terms of internal stakeholders and technology, and impact to safety outcomes for hundreds of thousands of delivery drivers.

Someone successful in this role will likely excel at stakeholder management and written influence, aligning cross-functional teams across tech, operations, and business leaders—even when priorities diverge. They will have a strong passion for technology, especially in areas like vehicle systems, advanced sensors, and driver behavior, with the ability to dive deep and translate complex tech into strategic opportunities. They’ll be highly analytical and data-driven, comfortable working with large datasets, writing queries, and using data to guide decisions. Most importantly, they’ll be customer-obsessed and impact-focused, prioritizing the highest-value opportunities that deliver measurable safety and performance improvements.

This role is a great opportunity to work with – and influence roadmaps – for next-gen tech in Amazon delivery vehicles, including Rivian vans, ML-driven camera tech, on-board compute and telemetry, and more. You also have the opportunity to deliver results that measurably impact the livelihoods of drivers and community members. Literally see the changes you are making each time an Amazon delivery associate delivers packages to your door.

A day in the life

In this role, the Sr. Product Manager will lead product development to improve safety while delivery associates are out of their vehicles. You will write documents to gain buy-in and present to senior leadership for approval. Then, you'll develop business requirements, success metrics, and manage end-to-end delivery.
