Enterprise Information Services (EIS) is a state government-wide information technology (IT) organization led by Oregon’s State Chief Information Officer (CIO). EIS is comprised of the following programs: Administrative Services, Cyber Security Services (CSS), Data Center Services (DCS), Data Governance and Transparency, Project Portfolio Performance, Shared Services, and Strategy and Design.
As a member of the Backup team, you will provide the highest level of technical expertise with the backup infrastructure, with a focus on Customer Service. Assisting with the coordination of technical efforts DCS is engaged in and contributing to the future development of the Backup service line.
This is a temporary assignment and will not exceed 6 months or 1,040 hours worked. It does not include the typical benefits available for employees. However, temporary employees may be eligible for employee health benefits offered through the Public Employees Benefit Board (PEBB) as outlined in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
- Six (6) years of information systems experience in: current data storage and backup infrastructure technologies utilizing Commvault or similar systems; OR
- An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience in: current data storage and backup infrastructure technologies utilizing Commvault or similar systems; OR
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: current data storage and backup infrastructure technologies utilizing Commvault or similar systems; OR
- Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.
Desired Attributes:
- Skills in principles of Microsoft and UNIX fundamentals, adherence to software and hardware standards, and understanding the impacts to statewide customers.
- Skilled in or with Enterprise Backup Systems
- Strong technical analytical skills in a secure data-center environment.
- Demonstrated skill and ability to collaborate with teammates and build positive business relationships with superiors, subordinates, peers, and others outside of their organization.
- Proven ability and skill to clearly explain complex/technical concepts in terms that are understandable for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency using technology and various software including Github, Microsoft Powershell, Ansible, Terraform, and Cloud environments.
