Summary: This is for a lead role at the Plano, TX location and will be hired as a temp employee to later hire if fit.

Responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic and aesthetically pleasing care environment. Provide corrective cleansing action for rooms and public areas while engaged in contact with staff, visitors, patients and patient's families as needed. Contact may include physical, psychological, educational and safety related and should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned service areas. Responsible for timely cleaning of rooms, floors in corridors and other assigned areas to meet established cleanliness and infection control standards. EVS Technician 3 is to ensure cleansing standards are according to the Association for Health Care Environment (AHE) publication Practice Guidance for Health Care Environmental Cleaning policies as the EVS Tech 3 is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cleaning and disinfection, of patient care areas including but not limited to daily occupied and discharge/transfer, clinical, ancillary, support services; cleansing not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, gathering and disposing of trash and waste materials, removing linens, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and/or patient rooms, cleaning and disinfecting fixtures, wet mopping and other similar duties.
  • Maintain assigned equipment/cleaning carts for cleanliness and have repairs made as needed. Keeps stock and restocks of supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Removes waste and transports to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper wasted streams handling (i.e.
  • regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous). Take corrective action for unsatisfactory cleanliness when observe d in any area of the hospital, i.e., removing litter in public areas.
  • Utilize bed tracking system (EPIC or other system) to identify cleaning needs; respond to pager or overhead pages, and assist in cleaning of emergency spills, observed or upon request.
  • Recognizes and adheres to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA)
  • Adheres to all organization safety, risk management and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
  • Follows all infection prevention practice s and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning an offing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others.
  • Able to train employees with a respectable disposition; able to motivate, encourage and use positive approach to training
  • May perform floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting. Including cleaning stairwell and elevators and hanging of curtains as needed.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • At least 1 year Minimum 1 year of related experience required with some good computer use skills

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification from the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE); within first year of hire. 1 Year required
  • Either one of these: Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) certification or a Certified Non-Acute Care Cleaning (CNACC) from the Association for the Health Care Environment; within first year of hire. 1 Year required
