This is a unique role where you’ll shape the architecture that underpins our digital transformation. You’ll work across multiple domains—applications, data, integration, cloud, security, and infrastructure—to ensure our systems are aligned with business goals and deliver value to Aucklanders.

As a trusted advisor and technical leader, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to solve complex business problems, drive innovation, and embed architectural best practices that support long-term success.

You’re a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and a passion for designing elegant, enterprise-scale solutions. You thrive in complex environments and bring a collaborative, forward-thinking approach to architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise architecture solutions across digital platforms.
• Translate business strategies into scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology designs.
• Provide technical leadership across projects, ensuring alignment with architecture frameworks and standards.
• Act as a key liaison between digital teams and business stakeholders.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
• Maintain architecture artefacts and ensure compliance with governance processes.
• Mentor junior architects and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

• 10–15 years of experience in architecture roles (Principal, Solution, Domain, Enterprise).
• Proven experience across digital, ecommerce, applications, data, integration, cloud, and security domains.
• Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, SOA), modelling languages (UML, SysML), and integration patterns (REST, SOAP, APIs).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), SaaS/PaaS environments, and enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, CMS).
• In-Depth knowledge and working hands-on experience in Azure, particularly in the integration services using APIM, Service Bus Topic, Function Apps, Logic Apps etc.
• Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Data Cloud experience is required.
• Good understanding of Cyber Security frameworks and policies, including pen testing, vulnerability assessment and remediations will be a huge plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and vendor negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale strategic projects and influence at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Relevant certifications in architecture frameworks or cloud technologies are a plus.

This role has a remuneration range of $145K to $165K

Our employer Kiwisaver contribution is additional to base salary offered.
