Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Back-up to Line 1 Group Lead
  • Establish daily work task plan and communicate to team members at start of the shift
  • Provide daily direction to team members during the shift to coordinate work flow
  • Provide OJT opportunities to team members to develop flexibility
  • Work in conjunction with supervisor to identify team member strengths and weaknesses and communicate development needs to training specialists
  • Monitor line and employee performance; provide feedback to team members to ensure compliance to safety, quality, maintenance, and operational standards.
  • Monitor and maintain wash station, assembly equipment, robotics, and inspection equipment through HMI interactions.
  • Perform routine product changes in the cell using quick change tooling.
  • Recover the automation cell from unintentional stops and return the cell to a production ready status when needed. This could include moving the Fanuc robots to a safe home position and returning the process back to a ready position.
  • Work directly with shipping/receiving and material handlers on incoming and outgoing production components.
  • Work directly with technicians, engineering, quality, and maintenance to ensure all processes performing per standard work instructions. Report any deviations from standard work instructions immediately.
  • Practice Zero Tolerance in respect to safety, quality and production.
  • Perform daily cleaning preventative maintenance activities
  • Participate in Kaizen and troubleshooting events
  • Monitor and maintain 5S principles, including housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Manage rotor stacking requirements to maintain appropriate quality and output levels.
  • Identify and disposition non-conforming product per work instructions.
  • Move product via forklift between staged areas and assembly line
  • Must comply with PM logs, first piece inspection
  • Participate in training off-site as required
  • Through example; demonstrate a commitment of excellence

Qualifications and Competencies:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge:
    • Basic understanding of PLC controls and processes preferred
    • Experience operating robot controls preferred
    • Experience in lean principles preferred
    • Line 1 experience preferred
