Position Summary:

The TRIO Program Assistant will support the mission of the TRIO Programs at Minot State University by assisting with alumni engagement, event coordination, and general office operations. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and passionate about supporting educational access and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research and develop a comprehensive TRIO Alumni Database.

Collaborate with TRIO staff to plan, organize, and execute TRIO events and special projects.

Work closely with the TRIO Director and the National TRIO Alumni Association to establish a Minot State University TRIO Alumni Group.

Provide support to Peer Mentors on various projects and initiatives.

Perform general office duties, including filing, data entry, and responding to inquiries.

Assist with other duties as assigned by TRIO staff.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with database management or alumni relations.
  • Event planning or coordination experience.
  • Familiarity with TRIO Programs and their mission.
