With 25+ years of experience in agriculture consulting, the Pinion Risk Management (PRM) group is seeking a driven Agribusiness Developer to join our growing team. If you are entrepreneurial and excel in being nimble and strategic to close sales through multiple avenues, this is the role for you. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside producers across the country and around the world to protect their businesses.

What you’ll be doing:

Actively seek out new clients within the agricultural industry, building relationships with current and potential customers, and promoting PRM's services. The Agribusiness Developer will focus on helping agribusinesses manage their operations price risks, leveraging the knowledge and expertise of PRM to better navigate market volatility in grains, livestock, and dairy.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Sales Development & Strategy:
  • Ownership of the sales strategy and pipeline from lead generation to contract execution. Pursuing new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Ag Industry Expertise:
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of the agricultural landscape, including farming practices, market trends, regulatory issues, and challenges faced by different segments of the ag industry.
  • Relationship Building:
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers with both potential and current clients, including farmers, ranchers, dairy operators, agribusiness executives, and industry associations.
  • Client Needs Assessment:
  • Identifying the specific challenges and goals of prospective clients to present tailored solutions from PRM's service portfolio.
  • Promoting Services:
  • Articulating the value proposition of PRM's services and effectively presenting proposals to potential clients, demonstrating how their expertise can improve financial performance and sustainability.

What you’ll need for this position:

  • Demonstrated success in sales with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Strong understanding of the agriculture landscape (farming practices, market trends, regulation, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with CRM software, preferably Dynamics, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% annually.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience in the commodities or financial services sectors
  • Series 3 licensed
  • Federal Crop Insurance licensed

Compensation: In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000 - $100,000 plus commission on revenue generated from consulting, trading (futures/options), and crop insurance.

Remote Eligibility: This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at a Pinion office or attendance at offsites, as requested/required by the firm and/or your supervisor.
