To support Safran's drive towards advanced manufacturing, we are looking for a skilled Automation & Controls engineer to join our Industrialisation team. Acts as a main point of authority for automation activities within Industrialisation for new and existing product ranges. This role also expects hands-on activities to develop systems, working independently with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver solutions and support breakdowns and maintenance when necessary as well as spreading their knowledge across the team.
o Major resource for completion of open automation projects (Adelphi, QMS, Tunnel Winder, etc.) driving the technical solutions and implementation, addressing risks and working closely with other internal stakeholders
o Develop, modify & improve Safran's automated equipment.
o Create CAD layouts and virtual environments for simulation and programming.
o Hands-on coding, wiring, pneumatic piping for new lines and modification of existing product lines.
o Internal reference for maintenance & breakdown support for specialist equipment.
o Training of internal Maintenance teams to equip them to handle the majority of breakdowns once embedded.
o Creation of process documentation (Work instructions, control plans, PFMEA, etc.) and wiring diagrams, pneumatic circuits, ladder diagrams etc.
o Propose new automation CAPEX and lead preparation of business cases.
o Build capability network of suppliers and contractors for support and development.
o Be an expert resource; impart knowledge of automated system concepts and DFA to the wider Safran industrialisation team.
Proven experience within an applicable engineering role (Automation/Controls/Robotics/Systems/ME/IE) with relevant skillset in ideally Aerospace/Automotive background:
