As a Senior Software Engineer with MTSI you will utilize your external simulation environments plug-in development experience to support integration of externally created systems, subsystem, and component models for aerospace applications. This position is located in the Dayton, OH area.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Integration of low-fidelity parametric models, algorithms into external simulation environments to assess and verify system characteristics and capabilities within the TMAP modeling ecosystem.
  • Documenting all software and hardware characteristics and changes to:
    • Existing and new simulation environments.
    • Test architecture design and test planning.
    • Experimental design and test execution.
    • Data collection and analysis.
    • Report generation.
  • Interact with the customer to gather requirements, related reporting, give progress updates, etc.
  • You will provide technical information and analysis to recommend solutions and influence decisions.
  • You will distill and communicate technically complex material to senior decision makers.
  • You must be a self-starter who can execute development procedures on a demanding schedule with minimal supervision.
  • You will collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer.

Experience:

  • 10 years of External Simulation Environments plug-in development experience
  • At a minimum you should have a basic knowledge of analytical methodologies and tools, especially as they apply to the External Simulation Environments model development and mission design.
  • A basic understanding of aerospace system functions and dynamics, and how to model them in AFSIM, such as detailed sensor and flight dynamics models.
  • Demonstrated experience developing scenarios and plug-ins (custom movers, sensors, etc.) for external simulation environments.
  • Experience in software development utilizing C++, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with analytical software packages, especially MATLAB, (DESIRED).
  • Experience in process analysis, concepts of operations with the ability to follow procedures and troubleshoot issues.
  • You must have good people skills and be able to communicate effectively across a highly technical team of engineers and analysts.
  • Candidate should have demonstrated abilities to solve difficult software integration challenges.
  • The candidate must be a motivated self-starter who is able to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment, occasionally with minimal guidance and within rigid timelines.
  • The candidate must have the ability to interact with data suppliers, work well with coworkers and interface with customers, all at disparate locations.
  • The candidate must have outstanding skills in communicating complex technical issues and in providing comprehensive written, oral and/or digital products (including document organization and technical writing).
  • The candidate must have good analytic skills and the ability to apply these skills in a multi-tasking environment where more than one project may require their participation at a given time (typically one primary project and one or two ancillary projects).
  • The candidate should have familiarity with contractor and government roles in applying intelligence analysis to aerospace system development and acquisition.
  • The candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to the Dayton, Ohio area.

Education:

  • BS degree in computer science, software development, or an engineering/physics discipline. (REQUIRED)

Clearance:

  • Current Secret with TS/SCI eligibility (REQUIRED)
  • TS/SCI (DESIRED)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
