Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II over the Web Services Unit (WSU), the Information Technology Specialist I acts as a SharePoint / PowerBI Developer for the California Department of Insurance (CDI). This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and expertise in the design and implementation of business intelligence and collaboration solutions, including Power BI reporting, SharePoint workflows, and data architecture. The incumbent will apply advanced technical knowledge in data modeling, reporting solutions, and SharePoint integration to support the department's goals.

Working Conditions

  • The incumbent must be able to work in a high rise building.
  • The incumbent must be able to transport documents and/or equipment up to 15- 20 lbs., i.e. laptop computer, files, reference manuals, solicitation documents, etc.
  • The incumbent may telework in accordance with CDI's Telework Policy. Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.

Statement of Qualifications
