Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience in a leadership role (technical leadership or people management, supervision, or team leadership).

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience with core GenAI concepts, applied experimentation, and building prototypes with LLMs.

As a Software Engineer on this team, you will be at the heart of this mission, building the intelligent, proactive, and continuously evolving AI agents that form the core of our solution. You will work on a specific project critical to Google Cloud's success, developing cutting-edge AI to make cloud cost optimization intuitive, actionable, and automated. Responsibilities

• Lead and provide technical guidance to a team of software engineers.
• Lead and participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select appropriate technologies for building robust and scalable AI-driven recommendation and forecasting systems.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and fellow engineers to translate the needs of Developers, Platform Engineers, and their FinOps partners into tangible AI-powered features.
• Triage, debug, and resolve complex issues within the AI cost optimization systems, analyzing root causes and their impact on service operations and quality.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and cloud, driving the adoption of innovative solutions to deliver performant and cost-effective cloud solutions for our customers.
