We're seeking an experienced Technical Business Development leader to drive growth and market expansion for our technical training products. This role combines deep technical knowledge, strategic business acumen, and the ability to build lasting partnerships with AWS customers. We're seeking a strategic and results-driven Principal Technical Business Development Manager to spearhead and help customers up skill and transform their workforce through the adoption of the AWS Training Product portfolio. In this pivotal role, you'll serve as the intersection between technical product innovation, business strategy, and customer success, driving revenue through enterprise-level partnerships and sophisticated training solutions.

As the principal driver of technical training products business development, you will:

  • Lead complex technical sales cycles and develop strategic business opportunities for our training products portfolio
  • Create and execute go-to-market strategies to penetrate new markets and industries
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at enterprise accounts
  • Collaborate with product teams to align training products and experiences with market needs
  • Develop business cases and ROI models for training products
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop innovative training approaches that address emerging technical skills gaps
  • Shape our product roadmap by providing deep market insights and voice-of-customer feedback

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of technical sales or business development experience in enterprise software/training
  • Proven track record of closing deals $1M+
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and corporate training technologies
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or relevant advanced degree
  • Experience with AI-powered learning platforms
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training delivery platforms
  • Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner
  • Background in instructional design or corporate L&D
  • Certification in relevant technical domains
  • Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
