As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.As a member of our Network Rapid Response Team, your endless curiosity about technology will help you propel innovation and your career. Working in a team of highly motivated people like you, you’ll work with customers and be accountable for production incidents, problems, change management, internal and external communications, lifecycle management and product evolution. You’ll help develop functional goals and priorities that align with our overall strategy. You’ll collaborate with our talented and dedicated problem-solving technologists across the JPMorgan Chase & Co. global network. Your expertise in various network technologies and standards will be counted on to troubleshoot, identify, and solve complex and mission critical problems internally and externally.

Job responsibilities

  • Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
  • Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
  • Is responsible for incident, problem, change management, risk management, vendor and client relationships, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management, and service evolution.
  • Perform day-to-day duties of the function and define and drive Management Information Systems (MIS) requirements to support and improve the business processes.
  • Serve as the primary customer interface for day-to-day issues and queries.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, particularly in management roles such as Team Leader or Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Is responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members, as well as overall team management responsibilities.
  • Develop organizational functional goals, priorities, and service objectives that align with the overall Global Technology (GT) strategy.
  • Has the ability to create original documentation and update existing materials.
  • Act independently and leverage critical thinking skills.
  • Advocate for the customer base when faced with infrastructure or business-critical issues.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Proficient in Network Proxies Technologies
  • Expertise in one or more Network Technologies including Routing & Switching (LAN, WAN, MAN Metropolitan Area Network), IP Services (Load Balancing, Bluecoat Proxies, and Firewalls), Datacenter Technologies (Nexus, ASR, VXLAN, Cisco ACI/SIMPL, Arista Fabric), and Optical (Ciena).
  • Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Hands on experience working in a banking, exchange, or technology environment within a global organization.
  • Proficient in using Protocol Analyzers such as Cpacket, BigSwitch, Wireshark, and Riverbed.
  • Experience with tools like Splunk, SevOne, and Thousand Eyes.
  • Ability to use or learn scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be flexible, hands-on, and able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, client-focused, and collaborative environment.
