JOB TITLE: RS Aircraft Structural Mechanic I - 2nd Shift

Summary:
- Work under moderate supervision in a team-oriented environment to perform structural assembly operations in a production setting.
- Assemble and fit detail parts and structures; perform drilling and riveting to meet FAA, customer, and company standards
- Use tools such as portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, and reamers
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets to determine rivet type, size, and pattern
- Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, and fasteners
- Check all work to ensure defect-free assemblies before final inspection
- Maintain records (e.g., MIRs, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs); input labor into resource planning system
- Keep work area clean and organized in support of the company’s 5S and safety programs
- Support Lean activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other assigned duties with professionalism and attention to detail
- Participate in Kaizen events and other process improvement activities
- Maintain and properly use tools and equipment assigned by supervisor
- Adhere to all safety procedures and shop rules
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of structural assembly experience
- Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
- Graduates of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program may receive 1 year of experience credit
- Basic understanding of aircraft structures, sheet metal, and fabrication
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints and 6" scale
- Basic shop math and computer skills
- Strong hands-on aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work on tight schedules
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to work any shift and in confined/restricted spaces (climb ladders, stairs, stands, etc.)
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
