JOB TITLE: RS Aircraft Structural Mechanic I - 2nd Shift

LOCATION: Appleton, WI

PAY RATE: $21.21/hour

Summary:

  • Work under moderate supervision in a team-oriented environment to perform structural assembly operations in a production setting.
  • Assemble and fit detail parts and structures; perform drilling and riveting to meet FAA, customer, and company standards
  • Use tools such as portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, and reamers
  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets to determine rivet type, size, and pattern
  • Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, and fasteners
  • Check all work to ensure defect-free assemblies before final inspection
  • Maintain records (e.g., MIRs, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs); input labor into resource planning system
  • Keep work area clean and organized in support of the company’s 5S and safety programs
  • Support Lean activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other assigned duties with professionalism and attention to detail
  • Participate in Kaizen events and other process improvement activities
  • Maintain and properly use tools and equipment assigned by supervisor
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and shop rules

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1+ year of structural assembly experience
  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
  • Graduates of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program may receive 1 year of experience credit
  • Basic understanding of aircraft structures, sheet metal, and fabrication
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and 6" scale
  • Basic shop math and computer skills
  • Strong hands-on aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work on tight schedules
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work any shift and in confined/restricted spaces (climb ladders, stairs, stands, etc.)
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
