Mechanical Assembler

Pay: $24-26/hour

Location: Tukwilla, WA

Shift: 5AM-3:30PM

Job Description

Assemble electrical mechanical equipment and other sub-assemblies, including the testing of powered suspended access equipment and accessories.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the assembly of complex components with little or no supervision.
  • Complete the assembly of complex components according to measured cycle time.
  • Perform fit, function, and testing of assembled components under limited supervision.
  • Properly utilize required hand tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks according to verbal and written work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, reassemble, and test assembled components with limited supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn a range of assembly methods and tasks.
  • Perform 5S daily and continuously work to improve the performance of the work cell.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned or directed.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of electrical/mechanical assembly/installation or repair experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret moderately complex assembly drawings.
  • Proficiency in reading tape measures and similar measuring devices.
  • Ability to read and understand written standard work instructions.
  • Knowledge of how to read and interpret calibrated equipment used in assembly.
  • Good knowledge of the use of all tools (hand/powered) used in the assembly process.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner with strong attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to walk and lift items up to 50 pounds.
  • Clarity of vision, with the ability to talk and hear.
  • Proficiency in using arms to reach and hands to finger, handle, or feel.

Work Environment

Work within a tight warehouse alongside other manufacturing processes such as welding and metal fabrication. The environment includes forklifts and trucks moving inside and outside the warehouse. Employees will work at bench stations with tools and parts, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The warehouse is not insulated, moderately noisy, and not the brightest lit. The shift starts at 5am.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
