Job Title: 1st Shift CNC Mill Machinist

Job Description

An Industrial Manufacturing company specializing in aluminum and steel products is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist for a 1st Shift position.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various types of computer numerical control (CNC) machines, including Fadel Control, Fanuc Control, and Liner pallet system Doosan Machines.
  • Ensure the machines are operating correctly and adjust programs as necessary to meet specifications.
  • Perform maintenance on machines and replace dull or aged parts as needed.
  • Set up machines with different axes, including 3, 4, and 5 axes, using various controls.
  • Read and interpret aerospace blueprints to machine parts to precise specifications.
  • Adjust tool and work offsets as necessary for accuracy.
  • Inspect the first article part to ensure quality standards.
  • Utilize various measurement tools such as calipers, indicators, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Support and ensure compliance with ISO 9002/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Understand and apply SPC processes and in-process inspection systems.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with CNC Mill machines, ideally 4+ years, and 2 years of setup experience with Fadel Control, Fanuc Control, and Liner pallet system Doosan Machines.
  • Ability to edit programming and familiarity with G&M Codes.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances), and understanding of speeds and feeds.
  • Proficiency in adjusting tool and work offsets.
  • Skill in using various measurement tools including calipers, indicators, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Experience in supporting compliance with ISO 9002/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Understanding of SPC processes and in-process inspection systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification or trade school training is advantageous.
  • Forging experience is a plus.
  • Having your own set of tools is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is based in a Manufacturing Environment. Employees must be able to work overtime and wear safety protective equipment as required. Physical requirements include the ability to manipulate parts weighing up to 30 lbs, stand, walk, and handle light to medium weights of 10-30 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity are necessary, along with visual acuity for reading technical information. The shift starts between 4 AM and 6 AM, with 10-hour workdays and potential overtime on Saturdays and Sundays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orange, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
