Job Description

This role involves working closely with the SLGS Finance Team responsible for supporting the VBA automations in alignment with the digital transformation journey of the organization.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, quick learner, result-driven individual looking to advance their career with a passion to lead and drive change to improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance existing Excel-based tools and dashboards using VBA.
  • Automate recurring finance processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Finance Stakeholders across FP&A, Billing & Taxation, and Controllership to gather requirements and deliver customized automation solutions around P&L, Journal Entries, GST returns, consolidations & reconciliations etc.
  • Cross functional collaboration to cater their automation needs.
  • Support global finance teams, including stakeholders based in Canada, ensuring timely delivery and issue resolution.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and version control for all automation solutions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members when needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and implement automation solutions.
  • Flexibility to support critical business needs.
  • Demonstrated success in improving financial processes and reducing manual workloads through automation
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and VBA for automation.
  • Good understanding of finance processes (including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting) and terminology.
  • Experience working directly with senior finance stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Open to learning & adaptability to AI & emerging technologies.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, Power Query, or Power BI / Tableau is a plus.
  • Experience in managing automation projects from inception to completion.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
