General Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Full-Stack IT Software Developer, Staff to design, develop and support enterprise-grade customer-facing services built in Python and Java. These mission critical applications require high availability, scalability, and performance to ensure reliable and uninterrupted service delivery. A key focus of this role is on building services centered around search technologies such as Apache Solr.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of IT-relevant work experience with Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems).

OR

7+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

  • 4+ years of work experience with Full-stack Application Development (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
  • 3+ years of work experience with Data Structures, algorithms, and data stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and support full stack applications built in Python and Java
  • Develop clean, efficient, and modular code that adheres to modern standards, supporting long-term scalability and maintainability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Solution Architects and QA engineers
  • Develop a deep understanding of existing complex business logic to ensure seamless integration and functionality within new and evolving application features
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications to meet stringent SLAs and user experience requirements
  • Manages priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on search technologies
  • Proven expertise in Python, Java and AWS Cloud Services for critical enterprise-grade applications
  • Proficiency in Apache Solr and experience in developing and maintaining Solr indexes
  • Strong understanding of business logic and ability to translate it into code
  • Experience with high-availability systems capable of processing large volumes of requests
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL and web services
  • Database experience in SQL, NoSQL, Redis, and Memcached
  • Experience with AWS services such as Fargate, API Gateway, S3, Lambda
  • Working knowledge with authentication methods such as JWT, OAuth2, and Cognito
  • CI/CD experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, CloudFormation, and Terraform
  • Experience with LLM, RAG, and LangChain
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$128,100.00 - $192,100.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
