POSITION: Information Literacy & Instructional Design Librarian (FT)

Effective immediately: (FT) Information Literacy & Instructional Design Librarian - Library – New Castle.

Requirements: A Master’s degree in library science or a related field is required. Must have excellent communication, customer service skills, and organization skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be computer literate, proficient in the use of various applications such as Microsoft Office, and be versed in Information Literacy. Knowledge of research databases, internet searching, and familiarity with online course management systems and web-based tutorial software is expected. Must be committed to professional development in a rapidly changing work environment. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is necessary. Must demonstrate respect for others in the workplace and a commitment to creating a supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Collects, organizes, and facilitates access to information in multiple formats.
• Guides our academic community to think critically in the evaluation and ethical use of information.
• Creates, updates, and promotes online learning objects like library guides, instructional videos, and interactive modules.
• Support OER and textbook alternative initiatives; provide guidance and support on workflows, policies, and procedures.
• Provide reference support, research consultations, and information literacy instruction to students, faculty, and staff.
• Serve as a member of the library leadership team in planning, assessing, delivering, and managing library operations and contributing to library policy development and strategic planning.
• Develop innovative solutions to improve information access and library services. Prepares comprehensive reports or studies—internal or external—through data collection, research, and the application of professional librarian expertise.
• Participate as a member of Faculty Senate.
• Promote and foster a supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Instructional Services and Academic Collaborations Manager.

Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday-Friday with evening shifts required. Library service hours include daytime, evening, and weekend coverage: Monday–Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The incumbent must be flexible with their schedule and/or hours to meet the needs of the department and/or the University. Travel to other sites may be required.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience.
