POSITION SUMMARY
Manager, Data Strategy, Greater China is responsible for technical and analytical support required to design and implement data strategy frameworks for revenue management metrics including, but not limited to, market share performance, pricing effectiveness, booking pace by segment and tier, market segmentation, channels and source market trends. Will be additionally responsible for developing analytical tools, report and dashboard for deeper analysis required to determine factors that impact performance and provide analytical support to Revenue Management leadership.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including topline and customer analytics to provide analytical tools, reporting systems, and visualization platforms to enable Global & Regional stakeholders to access, interpret, and visualize data effectively on a recurring basis (monthly & quarterly); and to provide necessary support in Long Range Planning, Business Planning and Annual Goal setting.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education & Experience
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Data Science, Operations Research, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major & minimum 4 years’ experience in Revenue Management or analytics related role.
OR
- 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Data Science, Operations Research, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; minimum 2 years’ experience in Revenue Management or analytics related role.
Skills and Knowledge
- High proficiency (speaking, reading and writing) in English is mandatory.
- Good knowledge (speaking, reading and writing) in Chinese.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Advanced Excel and Advanced PowerPoint is essential.
- Expertise in developing corporate reports, dashboards and reporting using data visualizations software.
- Experience in working with SQL databases.
- Experience in programming languages.
- Demonstrated analytical ability, with experience in solving “real-life” business problems.
- Knowledge of financial analysis, quantitative analysis, statistical tools and economic concepts.
- Ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it to Senior Management in a clear, concise and complete manner which facilitates executive decision making.
- Ability to communicate data specifications, deadlines and project requirements to suppliers clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work both as a team member and a team leader to achieve results in a teamwork environment.
- Strong relationship management, strategic planning, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and proven ability to handle multi-task assignments.
- Working knowledge/experience in Travel & Hospitality industry.
- Marriott revenue management experience preferred.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Compiles information analyzes and monitors (incl. but not limited to financial, revenue management, sales, channel & loyalty) performance.
- Provide monthly analysis and critique to key stakeholders.
- Develop analytical approaches to support all key business processes throughout the year.
- Develop measurement techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of performance related initiatives.
- Monitor, evaluate and contribute to the enhancement of the effectiveness of the revenue management systems and revenue management efforts.
- Respond to requests from stakeholders for data and analysis
- Special projects, including ad hoc requests for information, analysis and recommendations relative to Revenue Management initiatives.
