What You'll Do

As an Inbound Supervisor in our e-commerce fulfillment center, you will report directly to the Inbound Manager and play a key leadership role in supporting daily dock, receiving, and putaway operations. You will help ensure that inbound workflows run efficiently, accurately, and safely, while driving accountability and coaching team members. This position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented leader with strong receiving and putaway experience who can step in to drive performance, resolve issues, and reinforce SOPs. You’ll work closely with the Inbound Manager to execute department goals and address operational challenges in real time, especially during high-volume periods.

Receiving:

  • Supervise the receiving team in executing scanning and sorting processes for all incoming shipments, including returns, trades, small package, LTL, and truckload.
  • Ensure compliance with receiving procedures and provide daily guidance and support to team members.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and prioritization of inbound deliveries.
  • Address receiving-related issues promptly and investigate discrepancies in received freight.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to the receiving department.
  • Ensure the team operates in a safe and organized manner.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and timeliness when processing inbound shipments.

Putaway:

  • Supervise the putaway team in the accurate and timely storage of received inventory.
  • Ensure putaway standards and system protocols are consistently followed.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or inefficiencies in the putaway process.
  • Support inventory accuracy and location integrity.
  • Monitor real-time capacity and adjust putaway flow to optimize racking and shelving.
  • Monitoring and improving timely and accurate storage of inventory to maximize efficiency and inventory integrity.

Leadership and Communication:

  • Coach and train team members to improve performance and adherence to new and existing SOPs.
  • Communicate operational risks, bottlenecks, and performance issues to the Inbound Manager or and management with urgency and solutions in mind.
  • Lead by example to foster a culture of accountability, safety, and team ownership.
  • Support cross-training initiatives across departments to build team flexibility and reduce downtime.
  • All supervisors are expected to cross-train and step into other roles or departments as needed to support overall warehouse operations including peak seasons, holidays, vacations, and shift in priorities.

Quality and Process Improvement:

  • Track KPIs such as receipt accuracy, putaway compliance, and processing time.
  • Analyze recurring issues (e.g., misreceipts, label errors) and implement corrective actions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve inbound operations and reduce errors.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to ensure and improve process and quality.

What Will Help You Thrive

  • 5+ years of warehouse experience, including 2+ years of supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a track record of improving team performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of inventory accuracy principles and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in warehouse systems; AS400 experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Ability to analyze issues and implement improvements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, on-site role with schedule flexibility required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Requires regular presence on the warehouse floor and flexibility to shift between dock, staging, and storage areas.
  • Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Must be available to support extended hours during peak seasons.
