Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the English Writing Program within the School of Arts and Sciences.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Handles administrative oversight of testing and placement, submission of programmatic assessments, entering scheduling data, and administrative coordination for the English Writing Program and all affiliated units.
  • Collaborates on matters of testing and placement with faculty leadership and University personnel.
  • Coordinates with faculty leadership to standardize placement test processes and materials.
  • Oversees administrative processes related to all Writing Program self-assessments, audits, and reporting requirements.
  • Resolves routine conflicts and issues, prepares, and implements administrative guidelines and procedures with an understanding of the mission, vision, role of the Writing Program.

Minimum Salary 57356.00

Mid Range Salary 71372.00

Maximum Salary 85388.00

Minimum Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.
  • A minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an administrator in a professional setting.
  • Experience working in an academic institution is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of SPSS (Statistical software), CARS (Placement Test Interface), IMS (view student records), REGIS (view grades and rosters), Microsoft Suite, Google Applications, Course Scheduling System, Scheduling Database, Blue, Joomla, ROCS, and Qualtrics.
