Structural Project Engineer – Building Design | St. Louis, MO

IMEG is seeking an experienced Structural Project Engineer to join our growing St. Louis, Missouri office. As a key member of our structural team, you’ll lead the design and analysis of building systems—including gravity and lateral framing, foundation sizing, and BIM modeling—on a variety of commercial and infrastructure projects. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, utilize advanced tools like Revit and Tekla, and ensure project accuracy, code compliance, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead structural design and analysis for building projects using engineering judgment, software, and hand calculations
• Prepare project specifications and ensure all designs meet applicable codes and standards
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and documentation
• Coordinate with architectural, electrical, and technology disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
• Oversee BIM instructions and maintain project design notebooks and permanent records
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final checks
• Identify and resolve project challenges in collaboration with the Project Manager
• Mentor and support designers and modelers throughout project delivery
• Conduct site observations and provide contract-required services

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred)
• Structural Engineering license
• Minimum of four years of relevant structural engineering experience
• Proficiency with Revit, Tekla, and Microsoft Office; experience with BIM workflows
• Strong knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and technical design principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
