As a Sr Estimator here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in the estimation department. This position involves leading a team of estimators, managing the estimation process, and collaborating with various stakeholders to develop accurate and competitive project bids. The Senior Estimator ensures that the estimating team produces high-quality work that aligns with the organization's objectives and standards.

In this role, you will impact the accuracy and competitiveness of our project bids, supporting the organization's growth and profitability by providing expert-level guidance in cost analysis, bid strategy, and risk assessment.

This is a key position in the Proposals & Estimation (P&E) Organization implemented to maximize customer facing time of front-line resources. This position is based in Cairo (Egypt) and will support the META Sales organisation and will work closely with Estimators, Account Managers and Vertical Leaders / Business Consultants within META. This role will be responsible for shepherding of qualified opportunities through the different internal support functions, with a goal of delivering a first-class proposal for customer presentation. The focus of the position is to enhance the speed and quality of proposals by utilizing Honeywell’s P&E pricing tools and benchmarking from accumulated experience. The position will also work closely with Account Managers and Business Consultants regarding identifying and providing support documentation, including approvals for the booking of such proposals.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the performance, planning, resource management and coordinating the development of solution scope, the estimate, and the proposal for service/project opportunities
  • Creates a culture of accountability, supporting and driving the “One Team” model
  • Provide competitive insight from past opportunities and apply “lessons learned” to the assigned opportunities
  • Works with Estimators, Supply chain and other stakeholders to ensure proper costing for within the pricing emphasizing Honeywell’s value proposition.
  • Review historical quotes and analyze best prices and discounts received for systems and equipment across past projects. Prepare detailed price walk based on this analysis to recommend optimal and competitive project costs.
  • Manage sales costs for assigned opportunities against projected/estimated budget
  • Lead bid response, functional system review, competitive comparison, and review for accurate estimates and new applications of technology
  • Establish strong working relationships with Sales and Functional team members to anticipate barriers and overcome them prior to impacting response timelines with customers
  • Navigate and manage the formal Sales process from opportunity assignment through to booking on behalf of the Sales professional ensuring all compliance elements, tools, reviews, and approvals have been accomplished
  • Consult with Sales on pursuit strategy, analytics, and models of success to maximise chances of winning
  • Responsible for the strategy and execution of the response plan/schedule for assigned opportunities
  • Identify applicable Best Practices and assemble bid analytics to improve win rate
  • Capture competitive intel w/Sales on all won/lost decisions Perform to the key metrics of Customer Satisfaction, Growth, Productivity and Quality
  • Complete Bid Management activities to the agreed SLA’s
  • Leverage of knowledge of internal sales process and system to drive consistent business result
  • Ensure compliance to customer requirements and Honeywell policy
  • Drive continuous improvement and lead change in a premier Sales organisation
  • Implement Honeywell’s environmental policies and procedures, minimise resource waste, and actively participate in initiatives that reduce environmental impact.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • +10 years of experience in estimating, preferably in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools
