Product and Inventory Shipping Supervisor

Lead shipping and inventory operations to ensure accurate, timely order fulfillment while managing teams, optimizing processes, and maintaining high customer service standards in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping Operations Management

  • Oversee daily shipping operations and order fulfillment
  • Manage shipping schedules and carrier coordination
  • Ensure accurate order picking, packing, and shipping
  • Monitor shipping costs and optimize freight efficiency
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers
  • Track shipment status and delivery performance
  • Handle shipping documentation and compliance

Inventory Control

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting
  • Manage inventory levels and replenishment
  • Coordinate receiving and put-away processes
  • Implement inventory control procedures
  • Monitor stock movements and adjustments
  • Ensure proper inventory storage and organization
  • Track inventory metrics and KPIs

Team Leadership

  • Supervise shipping and warehouse staff (15-25 employees)
  • Conduct daily team meetings and shift briefings
  • Provide training and professional development
  • Manage performance evaluations and coaching
  • Handle scheduling and overtime management
  • Foster positive team culture and safety awareness
  • Lead by example in work standards

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement operational improvements
  • Analyze workflow efficiency and productivity
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Optimize shipping and inventory processes
  • Implement best practices and standard procedures
  • Support lean manufacturing/warehouse principles
  • Drive cost reduction and efficiency gains

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred

Experience:

  • 3+ years shipping/warehouse operations experience
  • 2+ years supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Experience with inventory management systems

Technical Skills:

Systems Knowledge:

  • WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Transportation management systems
