Summary
We're seeking an experienced Senior Product Development Engineer to lead the development of innovative products that meet regulatory requirements and ensure customer safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will lead the product management structures team and manage optimization & innovation for our modular build system components. You will be responsible for supporting product category managers who manage products such as cabinets, lighting, retail fixtures and furniture. In partnership with field safety & risk, detailing, national operations and rigging you will standardize the process for testing, validating, and certifying enterprise offerings.
This position will support our Global Supply Chain team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Las Vegas NV; however, we are also open to candidates based out of:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Product Development: Lead the design, development, and testing of new products, ensuring they meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines.
- Safety and Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety analyses to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure products comply with relevant regulations, standards, and industry norms (e.g., UL, CE, ETL, ASTM, FDA, FCC, FSC, GRS, GBRA, BIFMA, OSHA).
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including safety, detailing, national operations, quality, rigging, sales, and third-party suppliers to ensure product requirements are met.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and execute testing plans to validate product performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of product development, testing, and regulatory compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance product development efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Creative/Detailing support: Strengthen creative core and technical design practices from concept development thru detailing.
- Guidance and Alignment: Guide complex builds, making our design and production workflows more efficient and reduce the chances of deviating from design, intent, rework, revisions, miscommunications, and delays.
- Establish enterprise engineering committee and support branch vetter process.
- Professional Assurance: In partnership with delivery, lead engineering stamp process internally and with third-party providers.
- Budgeting: Standardize the cost and process for engineering stamps and other structures needs to leverage enterprise spend.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4 year college or university with a focus in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in product development, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of product development processes, including design, testing, and validation.
- Proficiency in CAD design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor).
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations (e.g., UL, CE, OSHA).
- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
- 7-10 years of experience with product development in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace).
- Knowledge of lean product development principles.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification is preferred.
- Certified Product Safety Engineer (CPSE) is preferred.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is preferred.
- Iso 14001 is preferred.
- Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) is preferred.

- Hiring range of $135,000 - $155,000 based upon experience. This position also qualifies for an Annual Incentive Bonus (AIP) of up to 12.5% of the base salary.
