Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented System Engineering and Integration Director to join our team! In this role you will hold a critical leadership role focused on delivering complex technical and programmatic transformations across the FAA’s infrastructure and operations.
What You’ll be Doing:
- Provide Systems Engineering Oversight by direct full lifecycle systems engineering activities: requirements development, architecture design, modeling, testing, and validation.
- Ensuring that all modernization elements (hardware, software related to radio communications, telecommunications surveillance, automation, other systems and ATC facilities) are integrated into a cohesive system of systems.
- Oversee technical integration of legacy and new systems across FAA facilities, Air Traffic Systems.
- Identify system-level risks (technical, schedule, integration challenges) and lead mitigation strategies.
- Manage system upgrades, transitions, and phasing to ensure continuity of FAA operations.
- Serve as the technical bridge between FAA leadership, engineering teams, contractors, and other federal agencies (e.g., DoD, DHS).
- Translate complex technical concepts into actionable plans for executive stakeholders.
- Lead a team of systems engineers, architects, and integration specialists.
- Oversee budgets, resource planning, and performance metrics for the ATC transformation program.
- Ensure all systems comply with FAA, DOT, and applicable national airspace standards.
- Prioritize air safety, redundancy, and reliability in system design and deployment.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering or technical field with a preference for a master’s degree in aviation systems, Systems Engineering or Engineering Management.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in large scale systems engineering
- Experience in using Systems Engineering best practices in identifying requirements and solutions for systems and services into an operational environment
- Experience in developing systems and service technical integration plans for complex delivery of multiple products and projects seamlessly into an operational environment
- Knowledge and skills in testing and evaluation of new technologies for delivery into existing operations, with critical equipment within an 24/7 operational environment with minimal systems or services interruption or degradation of safety
- Skills and experience in requirements development, design, development, and delivery of new technologies while working across multiple companies who specialize in different technologies
- Knowledge skills and experience in identifying and mitigating risks in development and delivery of new systems and services into other legacy systems and environments
- Knowledge of the FAA or other ANSPs mission essential or mission critical Air Traffic Control systems and infrastructure strongly preferred
