Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch, ensuring that each custom unit is assembled according to the specific needs of our clients. You will also be tasked with cutting piping to the correct length and assembling the housing structures for these units. This role requires physical activity including bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout the day, as well as working from blueprints when needed.

Responsibilities

• Brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch.
• Cutting piping to the appropriate length and assembling according to customer specifications.
• Working with blueprints to guide assembly processes.
• Assisting in the assembly of housing structures for units.
• Engaging in physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and twisting.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in mechanical assembly and use of hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Experience in brazing and general labor tasks.
• Skill in using a tape measure accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ months of experience in mechanical assembly, complex machine operation, or construction.
• Experience in MIG welding and fabrication is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined individuals with a background in plumbing or entry-level welding are encouraged to apply.
• Experience repairing machinery on a farm or working on cars is beneficial.

Work Environment

Work in a large manufacturing building as part of a team of 3-4 people in a fast-paced, well-lit environment. While the shop is kept clean, expect to get dirty due to the nature of the work. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 5:00am to 3:30pm. Although there is no air conditioning, fans are provided to ensure airflow. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are required daily.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
