CEMML is a research, education, and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at CSU. CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and other CSU departments to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations.

Position Summary
A National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Project Manager position is available with the Colorado State University Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will support the Environmental Impact Analysis Process (EIAP) Division at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) in San Antonio, TX. This position will provide technical expertise to the AFCEC’s National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Program Office.
This position provides support to government staff and management of EIAP projects including Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) from programming and validation through funding, execution via contracts, and completion of decision documents. This position is responsible for management of project scopes, technical rigor in impacts analysis, cost control, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate is an experienced NEPA practitioner who has contributed to or managed technical sections of EAs and EISs. They should possess a thorough understanding of the resource types considered within NEPA (especially natural or cultural resources) and of military mission-related considerations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage complex projects with varied stakeholders, review and edit technical documents, and lead and problem-solve with minimal supervision is required.
Overnight travel to project site locations will be required. This position will be located on-site at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. A hybrid telework/in-office schedule of at least 50% in-office may be available.
