Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Smokehouses.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing tasks as described and assigned by department Supervisor.
- Responsible for working in a safe manner.
- Responsible for ensuring product specifications are attained.
- Performs job assignment in a cost conscious manner.
- Strives to satisfy the requirements of internal and external customers.
- Responsible for being at workstation on time each workday.
- Participates in the Total Quality Management (TQM) process.
- Must have strong desire to accept responsibility, show initiative and be a team player.
- Must be able to communicate with Supervision, Quality Assurance and USDA personnel.
- Ability to be flexible as to various job assignments and working conditions.
- Responsible for following GMP’s, SOP’s , HACCP procedures, plant rules and policies.
- Must be able to work in temperatures 80° to 90° F, as well as temperatures 20° to 30° F.
- Should be knowledgeable of all jobs in the department, as well as, comfortably operate all equipment.
- Must be able to push wheeled trees on rails weighing up to 2800 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Be willing to train new employees assigned to the department.
- Must be able to read and write English, as well as, perform mathematical calculations: add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Must have basic computer skills and be able to navigate software.
- Must have the ability to produce error free operational documentation.
- One (1) to three (3) years experience as smoker preferred.
- Must be willing and able to perform other job functions as needed.
