Job Title: Estimating Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking an Estimating Coordinator to join our team and support increased bid opportunities. In this role, you will assist the lead estimator by preparing and sending bid packages to electrical contractors. As a commercial lighting distributor, we specialize in providing lighting packages to these contractors. You will utilize estimating software that is Excel-based, similar to general contractor estimating software, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with electrical contractors. Additionally, you will collaborate with the lead estimator to compile necessary information and read plans to create comprehensive packages.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead estimator with preparing bid packages for electrical contractors.
  • Utilize Excel-based estimating software for project estimation.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with electrical contractors.
  • Collaborate with the lead estimator in compiling information.
  • Read and interpret plans to create accurate bid packages.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in estimation and construction settings.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software.
  • Knowledge of bidding and project control.
  • Understanding of change orders and proposal creation.
  • Ability to provide document support to Project Managers and Estimators.
  • Preconstruction knowledge and understanding.
  • Blueprint reading skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Blueprint overview and reading proficiency.
  • Familiarity with construction documents.
  • Experience in creating bid packages.
  • Capability in take-offs and estimating support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

The role is based in a small, newly renovated office environment that is clean and professional. After an initial period of approximately 90 days to get up to speed, there are 25 remote workdays available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
