We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Messaging & Collaboration Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of our enterprise messaging platforms. This role is critical to ensuring high availability, security, and performance of email and messaging systems that enable seamless communication across the organization including collaboration tools like MS Teams and M365 that are commonly part of the role today.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE

• Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Exchange (On-Prem & Online) and Microsoft 365 collaboration environments (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Lead technical projects, email security enhancements, and collaboration tool rollouts.
• Implement and manage messaging and collaboration security policies (DLP, MFA, Conditional Access, retention, encryption).
• Ensure email authentication standards are configured and maintained (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Support compliance audits and implement solutions for regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, GDPR, or SOX.
• Monitor and troubleshoot messaging issues, provide escalation support, and ensure SLAs are met.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and/or Microsoft Graph to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
• Collaborate with security, network, and endpoint teams to enforce email-related security policies.
• Document infrastructure, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to IT strategy.

WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise messaging environments, with at least 3 in a senior or lead capacity.
• Certifications (preferred but strongly valued)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate or similar
  • Microsoft certifications in Exchange, M365, or Azure
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Exchange (2016/2019 On-Prem and Exchange Online).
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation, reporting, and administration.
• Deep understanding of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configurations and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), email encryption, and retention policies.
• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365, or other email security gateways.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mail flow, delivery, and access issues.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
