About the role

As a Lead Quality Engineer, you will take ownership of shaping and leading our QA approach across multiple technology domains. This is a strategic role where you will define test strategies, coordinate testing activities, and ensure that quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business stakeholders, and external partners, to ensure our testing efforts are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business goals. Your responsibilities will span test planning, execution oversight, test environment coordination, vendor collaboration, and reporting.

If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and make a real impact building better software, this is the job for you!

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement effective test strategies in alignment with group-level QA standards and in collaboration with internal teams and external IT suppliers.
  • Oversee planning and coordination of testing activities across multiple domains, including functional, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure test plans, schedules, and regression test cycles are managed effectively to avoid conflicts and ensure full coverage across systems.
  • Manage and optimise test environments in collaboration with IT, ensuring availability, stability, and consistency of test data.
  • Supervise internal and external test teams, working closely with vendors on quality assurance efforts including test scenario design and automation.
  • Lead regular testing status meetings with key project stakeholders and ensure visibility of testing progress and risks.
  • Monitor and report on testing KPIs such as defect trends, test coverage, and execution efficiency, and ensure alignment with compliance and audit requirements.
  • Support the ongoing development and integration of test automation strategies into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in testing processes and proactively manage risks and escalations related to testing or environment issues.

What you'll bring

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in test management or lead QA roles, ideally within complex, multi-supplier environments.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, test planning, environment management and QA best practices.
  • Solid hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git/GitLab, Jenkins, and SQL.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and their application to modern testing workflows.
  • Experience in working with or supporting test automation initiatives, including integration into cloud-native pipelines.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP; familiarity with containerisation tools such as Docker is a plus.
  • Ideally, experience with microservices, mocks/simulation tools, and knowledge of performance and security testing.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Excellent command of English and Polish (written and spoken)
