Under the guidance of the Agency Information Security Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting agency information security and privacy programs supporting California’s natural resources and environmental conservation efforts.

Incumbent must maintain confidentiality regarding all information security items and the participating in any forensics and/or security activities, or any other situations related to IT security issues where discretion is required. Occasional after-hours work scheduled and travel to various offices and locations throughout the State of California may be required. Travel estimated to be 5% or 17 days per year statewide. Under the provisions of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard CIP-004 as part of the Energy Policy of 2005, this position has authorized cyber access to or unescorted physical access around critical cyber assets and is subject to a satisfactory background check prior to appointment and every seven years thereafter.

Flexible Work Schedule:This position is eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager. Beginning July 1, 2025, it is expected that all employees will be required to work in-person at least four days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25.
