The Work

Our Radar Systems Engineering team is seeking a candidate to support the integration, test, and verification of high performance Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar systems. The Radar Systems Engineer will:

  • Apply advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to develop revolutionary system solutions.
  • Support integration and test, evaluate test results, investigate discrepancies, provide technical assessment of anomalies, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Conduct system verification and support certification activities.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to accomplish technical objectives
  • Have strong analytical and communication skills and work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Be comfortable working in hands-on laboratory or field environments.
  • Shift work may be required
  • This position involves the possibility of domestic and international travel as needed to support site installs, checkout and integration testing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or equivalent degree combined with 1 year or more of related experience
  • College course work or work experience with RF/radar systems or signal processing
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, C++ or Python
  • Flexibility to work non-standard work shifts and weekends as required by the supported program
  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret

level clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Functional knowledge of radar systems, subsystems and components
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in the integration and test of radar systems or radar subsystems
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: i) radar control algorithms; ii) modeling and simulation; iii) experience with predictive data filtering techniques (e.g. Kalman filters); and iv) experience in Signal Processing, image processing techniques, and modeling signal processing operations.
  • Familiarity with design, tools and environments for radar system performance analysis and modeling.
  • Familiarity with computer architectures and algorithm development for a range of system/subsystem applications.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $90,200 - $159,045. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
