CENTRAL UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT POSITION DESCRIPTION Position: Maintenance Worker IV Classification: Classified FLSA: Non-Exempt Reports to: Site Administrator Range: Classified Salary Schedule EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Experience: Five years of experience in building and maintenance work. License Requirement: Possess a valid California Vehicle Operator’s License. Condition of Employment: Insurability by the District liability insurance carrier. SUMMARY Under supervision as may be directed by the District Operation and Maintenance Manager performs all duties of the Maintenance Worker II and III as well as those requiring particular skills in one or more of the specialized trades. Performs other work in the District as required and assigned. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Carries out skilled duties of a particular construction trade 2. Performs work in alteration or maintenance of buildings 3. Responsible for conservation of time and materials on the job 4. Responsible for safety/program/training of employees 5. Makes recommendations for necessary maintenance 6. Keeps records, makes reports appropriate to assignment 7. Specializes in a particular skill area, including: a. Welding e. Roofing b. Carpentry f. Air Conditioning/heating c. Plumbing g. Cabinet making d. Painting h. Electrical 8. Performs other duties as necessary. SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS Should possess personal characteristics generally recognized as essential for good public employees including integrity, initiative, dependability, courtesy, good judgment and the ability to work cooperatively with others. Knowledge of: -Building/safety codes, -methods of supervision, -power equipment, hand tools and procedures used in building construction, -basic skills of one or more building trades. Ability to: -Perform necessary tasks of a particular trade, -supervise and coordinate the work of a crew, -draw plans and work from blueprints and -make oral/written reports.
