Amazon Devices & Services (D&S) is a division responsible for developing and managing Amazon's consumer electronics portfolio and associated services. The team works on popular products like Echo smart speakers, Fire TV, Kindle e-readers, Ring security devices, and various smart home products.
The organization combines hardware engineering, software development, and cloud services to create integrated consumer experiences. Their work spans across multiple technical domains including AI/ML, voice recognition, IoT technologies, streaming services, device security, and cloud computing, all while focusing on delivering innovative solutions that impact millions of customers worldwide through Amazon's device ecosystem.

As a member of the team, you will be working with business partners, software development engineers and testers UI/UX designers to design, implement, test, launch, document, and maintain complex software applications, tools, and systems. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product. You will learn a variety of cutting-edge technologies, development processes, and develop well-rounded skills such as leadership, and effective project management. You will also mentor junior software development engineers.
Key job responsibilities
You'll have a seat at the table defining the structure and strategic goals for this new organization.
You'll work with you manager to clarify requirements, design solutions, and solve difficult software problems.
You'll identify appropriate tradeoffs and escalate when you realize that a problem is beyond your control.
You'll mentor your new teammates and help them learn to develop production software in line with Amazon's quality bar.
You'll take ownership for the long-term quality and success of the products that your team builds and drive continuous improvement in engineering and operational excellence.
