Job Title: Combo Welder

Weekly Pay- $30-$50/hr (depending on experience)

Job Description

This position involves handling all aspects of welding tasks required to support aircraft production. The role requires the ability to read pipe drawings, source materials, and execute the complete welding process including MIG, TIG, flux, and stick welding on various materials such as stainless steel, carbon, and aluminum. Welders are responsible for fitting, cutting, and preparing pipes and parts, as well as installing them on aircraft without assistance. The job demands a strong understanding of welding techniques and the ability to perform duties without the aid of helpers.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding processes on aluminum and steel structures, assemblies, and piping using stick, TIG, MIG techniques as applicable.
• Determine layouts and weld parts, assemblies, and piping to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Read complex piping and instrumentation diagrams and shop drawings for installation, troubleshooting, and repairing systems.
• Perform tube, piping, and conduit installation for fluid system fabrication, upgrades, and modifications.
• Utilize mechanical and test tools including wrenches, sockets, torque wrenches, tape measure, squares, triangles.
• Safety checks and operate heavy equipment like boom lifts and forklifts.
• Maintain general housekeeping and continuous improvement of the site appearance.
• Travel to launch sites as required to support the overall program.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of relevant welding experience.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core welding techniques.
• Experience with structural and pipe welding.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals, and P&ID's.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Good understanding of heat applications and absorbents during welding operations to prevent warpage.
• Knowledge of shop practices including layout, drilling, sawing, grinding.
• Experience in operating forklifts, cranes, and other machinery with lifting and rigging experience preferred.
• Critical knowledge of stainless piping, especially TIG and MIG welding.

Work Environment

The role operates on a first shift basis, Monday through Friday, with potential work on Saturdays. The base shift is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with regular extended hours to 10 hours per day. Welders work independently without helpers, managing all aspects of the job themselves.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
