Aerotek is Hiring a Production Line Assembler in Burnaby

Job Description

Join our team as a Production Line Assembler where you will play a crucial role in assembling various versions of natural gas and liquid propane boilers. This one-year contract offers the potential for permanent employment based on performance. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient assembly of boilers, packaging, and preparing them for shipment.

Shift

• Monday to Friday
• 8AM-4:30PM

Wage

• $19/hour

Responsibilities

• Work on the production line assembling 3 different versions of boilers.
• Install and assemble components using hand and power tools.
• Pick parts for production from bins and double-check quality before passing to the next station.
• Move boilers from production line onto pallets, package them, and use a pallet jack to move skids to the shipping area.
• Ensure the surrounding area is clean and organized before starting work.
• Engage in repetitive movements including standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and crouching.

Essential Skills

• Experience in packaging, assembling, or general labor in a manufacturing facility.
• Mechanically inclined with proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively and stand throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Clear English communication skills for safety, with the ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable working in a hot environment, with temperatures reaching up to 35 degrees in summer.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3-6 months of experience on an assembly line or in industrial manufacturing.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

Our work environment requires PPE, including steel toe work boots, and attire of pants and long-sleeved shirts. The facility can get hot, reaching up to 35 degrees in the summer with fans for ventilation. It is a noisy environment due to power tools, but remains bright and clean. Our work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. No overtime is required during the contract period, though regular employees may have the option to extend their hours.
