Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

We are seeking a General Laborer to join our team at the Newberrytown concrete plant location. This entry-level position is pivotal to our operations and offers an opportunity to learn and grow in the concrete manufacturing field.

Responsibilities

• Break down molds of concrete pieces that have cured overnight.
• Pull out 'green concrete' from the molds and prepare forms for the next pour.
• Clean and scrape excess concrete from molds.
• Operate saw and other tools to cut concrete.
• Prepare molds and set in re-bar with spacers.
• Assist in smoothing poured concrete to cure overnight.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area by sweeping and shoveling concrete scraps.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in construction or heavy manufacturing settings.
• Proficiency in basic math and converting measurements.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to use a tape measure with 1/16" measurement accuracy.
• Capability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs or more regularly.

Work Environment

Our main facility is located at the Newberry/Lewisberry Plant in York Haven, PA, operating from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The work environment features high ceilings and is heated during the winter. Although not air-conditioned in the summer, overhead doors are opened for ventilation. The plant houses essential equipment such as overhead cranes and large forklifts. Expect to work in a dusty environment with concrete and machinery present. The dress code requires long pants, a T-shirt, and steel toe boots, with gloves and safety glasses provided as needed. A paid 20-minute break is scheduled around 9 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
