Job Title: Electrical Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Electrical Assemblers with at least one year of experience in small part assembly, preferably electrical and wiring. Candidates should have experience with hand tools such as wire cutters, strippers, rulers, and crimpers. You should be comfortable standing for extended periods and willing to work overtime. This position is for the day shift.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established assembly instructions for fiber optic cables and products.
  • Maintain a minimum standard quota for time and/or piece count for job assignments.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, company policies, and procedures.
  • Gain an intermediate understanding of the names and uses of tools in assembly.
  • Develop entry-level component identification and product knowledge.
  • Achieve an intermediate level understanding of measuring with standard and metric measurements and use available conversion tools.
  • Perform all tasks accurately and thoroughly to ensure quality products.
  • Report any irregularities related to daily goals, quality, or delays to the Production Supervisor or production management.
  • Use basic problem-solving skills to identify and address issues, initiating constructive change where needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in assembly, particularly small part assembly.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, measurement tools, and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of wiring, electrical components, wire crimpers, wire strippers, and panel wiring.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Good manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Basic measurement skills using both standard and metric systems.
  • Proficiency in basic English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to reason and analyze effectively.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, stooping, and bending.
  • Highly dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Team player with a collaborative spirit.

Work Environment

Work in a clean environment manufacturing fiber optics for government and private customers. The role requires wearing a basic gown, similar to a lab coat, in a clean-room type environment. The day shift runs from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday, with frequent overtime on Fridays. The swing shift operates from Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm to 12:30 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
