Job Title: Intermediate CNC Machinist

Job Description

Join our dynamic Metal Cutting & Turning Operations team as an Intermediate CNC Machinist. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining efficient production by setting up and operating a variety of CNC equipment, including turning machines and both vertical and horizontal machining centers. Your expertise in CNC machining and precision manufacturing will be key in ensuring high-quality work and meeting standard output rates.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Organize, prioritize, and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed, changing environment.
• Utilize shop math knowledge effectively.
• Proficiently use measuring equipment such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
• Understand metal-cutting applications and machine practices.
• Handle piece parts ranging in weight from 1lb to 25 lbs.
• Deburr and clean parts using various hand and power tools such as a belt sander or drill press.
• Inspect parts visually and using various measurement tools.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• 1+ year of CNC setup experience.
• Experience with Mazak, Okuma, or Haas machines.
• Mill experience.
• Blueprints experience.
• Proficiency in precision measuring tools: micrometers and calipers.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CNC vocational schooling.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience.
• Experience with both CNC Lathe and Mill machines.

Work Environment

Work in a brand new, climate-controlled facility in Palatine. Engage in a fast-paced production environment with flexible shifts: 2nd Shift (4:30 pm - 1:00 am) with an average of 5-10 hours of overtime. Some Saturdays may be required, but they are not mandatory.

This position is based out of Palatine, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.
