Job Title: Medical Device Assembler

Job Description

Engage in the manufacturing and assembly of medical devices by following specific procedures and manufacturing instructions. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring product quality and integrity through precise adherence to established guidelines and protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Line Clearance, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, production drawings, Good Documentation Practices, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safety requirements.
  • Successfully complete training on production tasks and understand travelers/routers, identify materials, use a microscope, and operate production/inspection tools and equipment necessary for product builds.
  • Operate tools and equipment, and complete documentation as required.
  • Perform equipment set-up, operation, and in-process inspection to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate directly with Engineers and Supervisors to ensure product integrity and quality are consistently met.
  • Assist Engineers in developing process documentation.
  • Conduct inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, following verbal instructions regarding tasks to be completed.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in using a microscope for assembly and inspection of medical devices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow SOP and Line Clearance guidelines.
  • Experience in working with adhesives, EFD dispensers, and UV curing systems.
  • Previous experience in cleanroom environments and operating SMT machines.
  • Ability to perform rework and inspection as an SMT Operator.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical device assembly and production or small electronics manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or prototyping experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing catheter products is a plus.
  • Competence in using required safety equipment during lab work.
  • Prior experience in medical assembly and cleanroom procedures.
  • Ability to understand and perform in-process inspections to assure workmanship and quality of medical devices.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of two shifts: 5 positions on the first shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm) with overtime available before the shift, and 8 positions on the second shift (2:40 pm to 11:10 pm) with overtime available after the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
