We are seeking two experienced risk management professionals to join our team as an Process and Controls Leads on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. You’ll play a central role in uplifting Optus’ approach to handling critical risks across customer conduct, complaints, credit decisioning, and vulnerability. You’ll work directly with risk and business leads to co-design fit-for-purpose controls, define key risk indicators (KRIs), and build reporting frameworks that bring risk clarity and confidence to the business.

This is a high-impact role for a sharp, hands-on professional who thrives in regulated environments and knows how to translate complexity into clarity.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Partner with the business to assess and enhance existing risk control environments
• Co-design sustainable, auditable controls aligned to compliance obligations and customer risk
• Build and implement key risk indicators and insightful risk reporting dashboards
• Guide the development of preventative and detective control strategies
• Coach stakeholders across Lines 1 and 2 to uplift risk maturity and control frameworks
• Ensure consistent alignment with enterprise risk and regulatory standards

What you’ll bring:

• A trusted advisor with strong commercial acumen and rigour in risk management practices
• A deep understanding of what good looks like in control design and assurance
• Comfortable navigating sophisticated, matrixed stakeholder environments and leading change with confidence
• Extensive experience in risk, controls, or assurance within highly regulated sectors
• Hands-on expertise in control design, KRI frameworks, and operational risk reporting
• Solid experience responding to enforcement programs, risk frameworks, and compliance standards
• A strong grasp of how Line 1 and Line 2 operate within enterprise risk environments
• Experience in banking, finance, or telecommunications is a plus
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills—because influence matters.
