What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Lead the system level component testing for chassis parts
- Coordinate test benches, test parts and engineering service providers
- Align test specifications and requirements with a variety of stakeholders
- Support the signal derivation for test benches based on RLDA results and MBS simulation
- Check and analyze test results of single component test benches and sub-system level test benches
- Carry out in-depth analysis of test results of various test benches and coordinate the next steps and optimizations
- Analyze and continuously optimize test procedures and test plans
- Run and judge FEA results and derive design optimizations
- Sign-off strength and durability test reports from single component level tests, sub-system component level tests and system level component tests
- Develop and execute test plans to meet program milestones, regulatory requirements, and a successful launch
- Partner with other teams to produce solutions to engineering challenges
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in vehicle component testing processes, requirement management and development strategies
- Supervise a variety of suppliers, engineering service providers and team members from the group
- Represent the company in technical discussions with suppliers and industry partners
- Expedite the project with new ideas and new projects even outside of the component testing scope
- Support the Chassis Testing & Tuning team, whenever needed with commitment to tasks outside the chassis test scope
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI.
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Travel: Domestic and international travel required. Passport required. Valid Driver's license required.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an engineering field of study
- 8+ years of experience in vehicle concept engineering or serial development, in the work scope of vehicle durability, part strength, FE analysis and component test benches
- Strong understanding of durability test benches, necessary signals and development requirements
- Ability to judge FEA results and derive actions out of it
- Experience in supplier and service provider coordination
- Deep knowledge of part failure modes and possible optimizations
- A passion for part durability, part testing, failure analysis and design improvements
- Huge experience with test bench concepts and fixture design
- Time plan and part coordination management skills
- Intense experience in leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Mentorship experience for junior engineers and the ability to teach complex content with passion
- Strong commitment to carry over assigned tasks outside of part testing scope if needed
- Advanced project steering and coordination skills to practice independent project management
- Skills and experience with CAD and FEA programs are a plus
- Motivation to work at the cutting edge of electric vehicle technical design, creation of new ideas and solutions, and enjoyment of hands-on testing.
- Flexibility for domestic and international travel as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills, task ownership, self-motivation, problem solving, innovation creativity and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Valid driver's license required.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $140,000.00 - $160,000.00
