Psychology at Heriot-Watt University has expanded greatly in the last decade. We offer both undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology programmes. The suite of MSc Business Psychology programmes for the largest component of our postgraduate teaching offer and is delivered in Edinburgh and Dubai. Our recently launched online MSc Business and Organisational Psychology is global and is growing. This online programme is accredited by the Association for Business Psychology (on-campus programme is pending).
Much of our research is applied in nature, and takes place in collaboration with industry, the NHS or charities. Current research in Psychology focuses on the following areas: work, society and environment; lifespan health and wellbeing; and brain, cognition and behaviour. We currently have a vacancy for an individual with a passion for teaching, and who has expertise either in social psychology with an interest in its application in the workplace or in some area of work-related psychology (such as workplace culture, diversity, leadership, organisational change, talent development, selection and assessment or marketing).

Detailed Description
Based at the Edinburgh campus, you will be a member of a strong academic teaching and research staff team. You will liaise closely with colleagues at our Dubai and Malaysia campuses, who will also be delivering programmes to our students.
The appointment will be made on the basis of a Teaching & Scholarship post for 12 months. Post holders will engage in teaching (approximately 70%), scholarship activities (approximately 10%) and carry out one or more administrative duties (approximately 20%). The successful post holder will be responsible for teaching predominantly across the postgraduate curriculum at HWU, but some undergraduate teaching is also expected.
You will have a demonstrable commitment to teaching (and where appropriate, research/scholarship), along with strong academic credibility and experience of one or more administrative roles. Experience of close collaborative working with other academics and professionals along with highly developed emotional intelligence, and personal resilience are all essential for this post.
The expectation is that you will have a flexible approach to teaching across a range of different areas within psychology, but predominantly within the field of workplace psychology.
