As a part-time, temporary Videographer, you will help bring our stories to life across Alabama through video content captured at key C Spire events. You will work collaboratively with creative and technical teams, capturing and editing impactful footage to be shared across television and other digital channels. This temporary, part-time role offers the opportunity to produce meaningful content while honing your video production skills.

Responsibilities:

What You Will Do

In all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.

• Transport production equipment, including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production.
• Operate and maintain proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, and other production equipment.
• Film video on set and on location through the Fall of 2025.
• Work with creative teams and clients to plan video shoots.
• Set up and take down cameras, microphones, lighting, props, and other equipment.
• Edit footage after recording.
• Add computer graphics, closed captioning, and special effects to footage.
• Prepare background film, also known as B-roll.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by the supervisor.

This position is an exceptional introduction to multimedia production, as there is plenty of room to grow and learn from outstanding individuals in the field. From videographer you will have a perfect springboard into all areas of C Spire and develop robust career skills.

In addition to that, we require:

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for transportation to and from events.
• Ability to quickly learn and execute video and audio capture operations, as well as video editing software.
• Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours and up to 25–30 hours per week, during the Fall of 2025. This is a part-time, temporary position.
• Strong multitasking skills and ability to collaborate with multiple crew members.
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients and production team members.
• Knowledge of post-production techniques.
• Understanding of software used for planning, editing, and scripting.

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must be able to transport and lift production equipment of up to at least 30lbs. Must be able to work on-location outdoors in variable weather conditions for extended periods, exposed to elements such as heat, rain, and dirt. Must be able to sit for long periods during video editing sessions and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing a computer screen.
