As the Supervisor, Field Route Design, you will lead a team that plans and engineers C Spire’s outside plant infrastructure. You will ensure GPS data accuracy, route planning, permitting, and coordination with internal and external teams to support rapid fiber deployment. Your technical knowledge, field experience, and leadership will be critical in delivering precision, speed, and quality to our infrastructure expansion.

Responsibilities:

What You Will Do

In all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.

• Demonstrate competence as a user of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word as well as AutoCAD and Google Earth.
• Schedule, coordinate and train field staff gathering GPS data in the field for in-house engineering projects.
• Obtain GIS data from DOT and local entities for road rights of way to incorporate into CAD drawings.
• Provide in-house support for OSP Construction group and outside contractors with information on routes, drawings, permits, site locations, and route staking.
• Coordinate red-lined changes to construction back to CAD group for accurate as-built documentation.
• Schedule, coordinate and train building entry group to facilitate timely installations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

In addition to that, we require:

• Minimum four-year college degree in technical area preferred. Five years or more in related role within the telecommunications industry will substitute.
• Minimum of two years’ experience with collection of field data, designing buried cable routes, and designing building entrances required.
• Strong organizational skills and very detail-oriented.
• Ability to build and enhance relationships with permitting engineers and staff.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer interaction skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Quick and seamless adaptation to change is a must.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

This position combines work inside the office and out in the field. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Supervisor will be expected to perform the above work while supervising and training others working in the department.
