Job Title: Scientist II/III – Quality Control Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Scientist II/III – Quality Control Chemist to join the client we are supporting's Quality Control Chemistry group. This role involves performing both routine and non-routine analytical testing to support pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contribute to the success of cutting-edge pharmaceutical projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), icIEF, TOC, UV, and particle size analysis.
• Conduct assays including residual solvents, potency, related substances, dissolution, elemental impurities, moisture content, and identification.
• Support method development, validation, and transfer activities.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments and ensure data integrity in compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards.
• Accurately document procedures and results using electronic systems (e.g., ELN, LIMS, Empower3, ProCal, MasterControl).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and optimize testing methods.
• Write and review test procedures, protocols, and reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
• Handle and process hazardous waste in compliance with RCRA and Alcami safety protocols.
• Participate in equipment cleaning, restocking, and hazardous waste removal.
• Ensure timely completion of all training and compliance requirements.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years.
• Proficiency in HPLC and CE, with a strong understanding of analytical chemistry and GMP regulations.
• Experience with method development and validation in a regulated environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO).
• Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Ability to adapt quickly and work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a modern, upgraded laboratory facility equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and electronic documentation systems. The role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality and compliance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

DP- Alcami benefits, holiday pay, PTO, etc.

This is a fully onsite position in Durham,NC.
