Job Summary

Xylem is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform hands-on service, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems at customer sites. This role involves installing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and diesel-powered equipment while ensuring safe and efficient operations. The Field Service Technician will travel to various customer locations, deliver exceptional service, and act as a technical resource and brand representative for Xylem. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and enjoys problem-solving in dynamic field environments. Ideal candidates may have experience in HVAC, electrical work, plumbing, diesel or mechanical systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport equipment and materials
  • Execute field service activities including equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Proactively identify and resolve equipment safety or performance issues
  • Ensure both company- and customer-owned equipment are operated safely and effectively
  • Foster a safe working environment and contribute to a strong safety culture
  • Communicate effectively with customers, representing Xylem with professionalism
  • Maintain and safeguard company tools, vehicles, and assets
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet service goals

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2–5 years of relevant technical experience, including in industrial or commercial process water systems
  • Clean driving record and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card
  • Ability to obtain all required customer site clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with mechanical, electrical or diesel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to synthesize technical information and communicate it clearly
  • Capable of working without direct supervision in a dynamic environment
